Japanese Commission on Populatuion reveals that Tokyo's population has doubled, basing on the recently done demographic analysis.
The main reason for this has said to be KPOP.
"Tokyo has lately been filled with many KPOP stars that have been debuting and promoting simultaneously. This has caused many fans, both Japanese and nearby countries, to swarm Tokyo." Hito Mayama of the Japanese Commission on Population stated.
"Although I would want to celebrate as this promotes Japan's tourism, these tourists do not go to Tokyo to see Tokyo but to see KPOP idol groups. Whenever a group comes, we would expect at least 10,000 new people flood the city." Mayama added.
He also stressed that Tokyo might not be able to handle the number of people flooding. This may affect the supply of food, water and other basic resources.
As of the late, KARA, 2PM, BEAST, F.T. Island, Girl's Generation, SHINee and many other groups are currently active in Japan. These groups have brought with them a great number of fans.
